U-Line ice maker repair
U-Line Ice Maker Repair in Maryland
We repair U-Line ice makers at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. U-Line clear-ice machines, gravity-drain or pump-drain. No ice, thin or slow cubes, scale on the freezing plate and drain pump failures are the usual complaints.
Booking online works too. With the U-Line ice maker's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
U-Line Ice Maker Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a U-Line service center, and not authorized by U-Line. If your ice maker is still inside the U-Line warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How an Ice Maker Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
How U-Line builds its ice makers
U-Line clear-ice machines don't freeze water in a tray. Water is pumped over a chilled plate, where it freezes in thin layers, and the minerals stay behind in the water rather than locking into the cube. That's what makes the ice clear, and it's also why these machines collect scale on the plate, the water distributor and the valve over time. Like most water in the region, WSSC's supply carries dissolved minerals, so regular cleaning with the recommended cleaner matters. A machine making little or no ice, or thin, cloudy cubes, usually has scale, a restricted water supply or a weak inlet valve. Drainage is the other half. On models with a drain pump, a failed pump or a kinked discharge line sends water back into the bin and sometimes onto the floor, and outdoor machines add the risk of frozen lines in winter.
Parts that tend to fail on U-Line ice makers
- Scale crusting the freezing plate
- Drain pump failed, bin flooding
- Inlet valve stuck or restricted
- Thin cloudy cubes from weak water flow
- Frozen supply line on an outdoor unit

U-Line Ice Maker Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
Meltwater isn't draining. On gravity-drain models, the drain line or its trap may be clogged; on pump-drain models, the pump may have failed or its outlet line may be blocked. We clear the drain, test the pump, and check that the unit is level.
Follow the schedule in your manual and clean sooner if production drops or cubes turn thin or cloudy. Regular cleaning prevents the scale that slows the machine and eventually damages parts.
