Sub-Zero ice maker repair
Sub-Zero Ice Maker Repair in Maryland
We repair Sub-Zero ice makers at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Freezer ice makers in full-size units and standalone undercounter machines, with gravity or pumped drains. Scale, weak water supply, drain pumps and bin sensors are the typical faults.
Booking online works too. With the Sub-Zero ice maker's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Sub-Zero Ice Maker Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Sub-Zero service center, and not authorized by Sub-Zero. If your ice maker is still inside the Sub-Zero warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How an Ice Maker Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
How Sub-Zero builds its ice makers
A Sub-Zero ice complaint could mean one of two machines. The ice maker inside a full-size unit is a self-contained module mounted in the freezer, with water supplied through a valve at the rear. It stops when water pressure drops, when the tube delivering water freezes, or when the freezer isn't cold enough to finish a batch. An undercounter Sub-Zero ice maker is a complete appliance on its own, with a compressor, a water system and a drain, and the pump-drain versions can back up into the bin when the pump clogs. Most homes here get WSSC Water drawn from the Potomac and Patuxent rivers, and like any supply it leaves mineral scale on the parts that freeze and release ice. We follow Sub-Zero's cleaning procedure before blaming a part, and check for an old saddle valve or a pinched supply line.
Parts that tend to fail on Sub-Zero ice makers
- Delivery tube frozen in the freezer
- Inlet valve opening only partway
- Mineral scale slowing the undercounter unit
- Drain pump blocked and bin backing up
- Bin sensor shutting off production

Sub-Zero Ice Maker Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
Scale is the usual reason. It builds on the freezing surfaces and slows every cycle. Running the cleaning procedure in the manual often brings output back. If it doesn't, we check the water valve, the airflow across the condenser and the bin sensor.
The water supply. We check the shutoff, the filter and the line pressure, then look for ice blocking the delivery tube and test the valve. If water reaches the tray and nothing happens, the ice maker module is tested.
