Ice-O-Matic ice maker repair
Ice-O-Matic Ice Maker Repair in Maryland
We repair Ice-O-Matic ice makers at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Undercounter and modular cube machines, Pearl Ice nugget units and flakers. Mineral scale, tired water pumps, fouled thickness probes, fill and level faults, bin sensors and worn gear motors are what we fix most.
Booking online works too. With the Ice-O-Matic ice maker's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Ice-O-Matic Ice Maker Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Ice-O-Matic service center, and not authorized by Ice-O-Matic. If your ice maker is still inside the Ice-O-Matic warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How an Ice Maker Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
How Ice-O-Matic builds its ice makers
On an Ice-O-Matic cuber, a pump lifts water from a trough to a distribution tube, which spreads it evenly across the evaporator plate while the refrigeration system chills it. Cubes form in the grid. When the ice bridges out to a thickness probe, the control starts a harvest, warming the plate so the slab slides into the bin. Almost every problem hangs off that cycle. Scale on the probe makes it trip late or not at all, so batches come out oversized or the machine times out. A tired pump or a partly blocked distribution tube leaves dry spots and half-formed cubes. The fill side (inlet valve and level sensing) can let the trough run short. At the bottom, a bin sensor decides when to pause; a dirty or misaligned one either overfills the bin or stops production early. Nugget and flake models skip the plate entirely and rely on an auger and gear motor, with their own wear points.
Parts that tend to fail on Ice-O-Matic ice makers
- Scale fouling the evaporator and probe
- Pump losing flow to the distribution tube
- Thickness probe dirty or misadjusted
- Bin sensor missing a full bin
- Inlet valve not filling the trough

Ice-O-Matic Ice Maker Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
Most often a safety timer: scale on the plate or probe stretches the freeze or harvest past its limit and the control shuts it down. A starved water supply or a dirty condenser can trigger the same thing. We check any fault indication, descale and sanitize, then watch a full cycle to confirm.
The bin sensor isn't registering the ice. It can be coated with scale, knocked out of position, or failed. We clean and realign it and test the signal, replacing it only if it still won't respond.
